Making Better Investment Decisions as Complexity Grows

An invitation-only, interactive Leadership Growth Roundtable for founders, CEOs and senior product, technology, digital and transformation leaders

As organizations grow and transform, important decisions become more interconnected.More people and functions are involved. Customer insight and organizational knowledge are spread across more places.Different people naturally see different parts of the reality, while no one person holds the whole picture. You may already be noticing some of the consequences.Important choices take more time and coordination, priorities compete, and decisions get reopened. In general, keeping things moving across functions requires increasing leadership attention and energy. It becomes harder to know with confidence whether the organization is putting its money, time, expertise and energy into the opportunities that can create the greatest value.Or perhaps things are moving well, but you can already see that the way you lead and make decisions will need to evolve as complexity increases. These are not only leadership challenges. They also have an economic impact.Decision friction consumes leadership capacity and slows execution. But the potentially greater cost comes from what gets invested in, which opportunities are missed, how quickly investments create value and return and whether organizational resources are being directed toward the things that can create the greatest customer value and growth.

AN INTERACTIVE ROUNDTABLE BUILT AROUND YOUR REAL WORK

This is not a traditional webinar where you spend the session listening to a presentation.I will introduce a few Leadership Growth ideas along the way, but the session is designed to give you space to look at one real situation from your own organization more clearly. You will move between short pieces of framing, your own reflection and discussion with other senior leaders in the room. The aim is for you to notice something you may not have seen before about what is really happening underneath the situation, what it may be costing, and where you have an opportunity to change it.You do not need to share confidential company or other information.I keep these Roundtables small and invitation-only so the people in the room have enough in common for the conversation to be relevant, while bringing different experiences and perspectives to it.Still, you decide what you want to keep private and what you want to bring into the conversation. You don't have to do any preparation, but you will get the most out of the session, if you have a certain challenge, situation, decision, or initiative in mind.Through a facilitated Leadership Growth process, you will explore:

  • what may really be creating the friction around the situation

  • what the situation may already be costing the organization

  • whether a recurring growth-limiting pattern sits underneath it

  • what customer and organizational intelligence already exists around the decision

  • which relevant perspectives or insights may be missing, underused or arriving too late

  • how you could strengthen the way the decision is prepared

  • what you can personally do to begin changing the pattern

COME WITH ONE REAL SITUATION

It could be:

  • an investment decision

  • a product or service initiative

  • a technology choice

  • a transformation

  • an innovation opportunity

  • an important growth question

  • something that is consuming too much leadership time or coordination

  • a decision where getting the choice right really matters

Much of the work in the session is done individually, using your own situation. You decide what you want to contribute to the group discussion.

WHAT YOU WILL LEAVE WITH

By the end of the session, you will have:

  • a clearer understanding of what may be creating the friction beneath your situation

  • a working hypothesis about one recurring growth-limiting pattern in your organization

  • a clearer view of what relevant intelligence is currently missing or underused

  • a stronger way of preparing the decision

  • one concrete action you can take to begin changing the pattern

Most importantly, the aim is to help you move from experiencing the symptoms of complexity to seeing more clearly what sits underneath them and where you, as a leader, can begin to create a different outcome.

THINK BETTER TOGETHER

As complexity increases, stronger leadership does not mean becoming the person with all the answers. It means becoming better at bringing the relevant perspectives into the picture, making sense of what they reveal, exercising judgment and making the call.Thinking better together does not mean expecting everyone to think the same.It means using more of the intelligence already available around you to make better choices about where to focus, where to invest and what should move forward.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a webinar?

Not in the traditional sense.

There will be some short framing from me, but the session is designed to help you look at one real situation from your own work in a new way.

You will have time to think, notice what may be sitting underneath the immediate challenge and explore what could help you move it forward.

There will also be space to hear perspectives from other senior leaders in the room, while you decide for yourself what you want to share.

Do I need to share confidential company information?

No.

You can work with your own situation privately throughout the session and choose what, if anything, you want to share with the group.

You do not need to disclose confidential company information in order to get value from the Roundtable.

Who is the Roundtable for?

The Roundtable is for founders, CEOs and senior leaders responsible for growth through product, technology, digital or transformation.

It is particularly relevant if increasing complexity is already affecting how decisions are made, or if your organization is growing and you want the way you lead and make decisions to evolve with it.

Do I need to prepare anything?

Very little.

Just come with one real decision, initiative, investment or growth challenge that matters to you.

It can be something that currently feels difficult, slow or unusually demanding, or simply something where you want greater confidence that you are making the right call.

Is this a sales session?

No.

The main purpose of the Roundtable is to give you useful perspective, clarity and something concrete you can take back into your work, whether or not we ever work together afterwards.

At the end, I will briefly explain the two ways you can continue with the Leadership Growth System if the work feels relevant to you.

There is absolutely no obligation to continue.

If the session leaves you curious to explore your situation further, you can book a private conversation with me. We can start from what you discovered in the Roundtable and see whether there is a useful way for us to work together.
